Good Local, LLC ("Good Local," "we," "us," or "our") operates www.goodlocal.com, city-specific pages, email newsletters, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). Good Local is a hyperlocal daily newsletter network that helps readers discover local news, events, new places, recommendations, and other useful information about their city.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to you. By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you subscribe, we may collect your email address, the city or cities you select, and any subscription preferences you choose to provide. If you contact us, submit an event or business update, inquire about advertising, respond to a survey, or otherwise communicate with us, we may also collect the information you choose to submit.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the website or interact with a Good Local email, we and our service providers may automatically receive limited technical and engagement information, such as IP address, browser or device information, pages viewed, referral source, approximate location derived from IP address, newsletter delivery information, opens or clicks, and similar operational data. The exact information depends on the tools we use.

Information From Other Sources

We may receive information from service providers, affiliate networks, local businesses, event organizers, publicly available sources, and other partners when necessary to operate the Services.

deliver the newsletter or city content you requested;

remember your city and subscription preferences;

3. Email Communications

You may unsubscribe from Good Local newsletters or marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in the email. If we offer preference controls for multiple cities or newsletter types, you may be able to manage those subscriptions separately.

Even after you unsubscribe, we may retain limited information necessary to maintain a suppression list, document your request, comply with law, or send non-marketing administrative messages when appropriate.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Good Local and its service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, tracked links, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, measure website and newsletter engagement, prevent fraud, and understand performance.

At launch, Good Local does not intend to sell or rent subscriber email addresses to advertisers or other businesses for their independent marketing. If our use of advertising technologies changes in a way that creates additional legal opt-out obligations, we will update our practices and this Privacy Policy accordingly.

You can generally control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain technologies may affect website functionality or our ability to measure newsletter and website performance.

5. How We Disclose Information

Service Providers

We may disclose information to vendors that help us operate the Services, including website hosting, cloud infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, form processing, security, customer support, and other business operations.

Advertising and Business Partners

Good Local may work with advertisers, sponsors, affiliate partners, and local businesses. We do not sell or rent subscriber email addresses to advertisers for their independent email marketing. Advertisers generally reach Good Local readers through placements delivered by Good Local rather than by receiving our subscriber list.

At Your Direction

We may disclose information when you direct us to do so, such as when you complete a form that clearly states your information will be provided to another party.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, enforce agreements, investigate misuse, protect rights or safety, or respond to lawful requests.

Advertising helps support Good Local and allows us to provide newsletters without charging readers. Good Local may receive compensation from advertisers, sponsors, businesses, event organizers, brands, merchants, or affiliate networks.

Paid advertising and sponsored content will be identified where appropriate. Some links may be affiliate links, which means Good Local may earn a commission or other compensation if you click or complete a qualifying transaction. 7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and whether a particular privacy law applies to Good Local, you may have rights regarding personal information associated with you, which may include rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain information.

Because Good Local does not currently require subscriber accounts, privacy requests may be submitted by email. We may need to verify that you control the email address associated with the request before completing it.

8. California Privacy Information

California residents may have privacy rights under applicable California law. Good Local collects the categories of information described in this Privacy Policy, including identifiers such as email address and IP address, internet or electronic activity information, approximate location derived from IP address, and information voluntarily submitted to us.

Good Local does not sell or rent subscriber email addresses to advertisers for their independent marketing. If Good Local becomes subject to additional California privacy requirements or begins using technologies that trigger sale, sharing, or other statutory opt-out obligations, we will provide the required notices and controls.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain subscription and suppression records, manage business relationships, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No website, email system, database, or Internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Third-Party Websites and Services

Good Local frequently links to local businesses, restaurants, ticketing services, event organizers, government websites, retailers, and other third parties. Those services operate independently of Good Local, and their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

12. Children's Privacy

13. United States Operations

Good Local is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
